If you’re back in the City but craving more adventures, on Monday 14th September meet the Turner twins at Mr Fogg’s for an evening of enchanting tales in one of the most refined but lively bars in the heart of Mayfair, London.
While explorers Hugo and Ross Turner will talk about their latest adventures, such as rowing across the Atlantic, trekking through Greenland and climbing Mount Elbrus, the tavern, modelled on what the home of the adventurer in Around the World in 80 Days would have looked like, will take you straight back to Victorian London.
The Turner brothers have dedicated their lives to go on physically and mentally challenging, endurance expeditions around the world after Hugo narrowly escaped a lifelong paralysis. Their aim is to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity Spinal Research which funds vital research into finding treatments to reverse paralysis.
For a walk on the wild side –

The very thought of autumn can be daunting, so we found the ideal weekend escape for you this November: pack your best trekking shoes and head to Provence, for a truffle hunting and wine tasting experience offered by luxury hotel Crillon le Brave.
Once you’ve earned your truffles, a cooking demonstration with the hotel chef will show you how to make it utterly delicious and, if that is not enough, you can look for the perfect wine to go with them at Châteauneuf-du-Papes’s finest winery estates.
A trip to the famous antiques shops and farmers’ market on l’Isle sur la Sorgue, the “Venice of Provence” is also on the delightful itinerary, to let you stock up on more delicious, gourmet food treats right before you head back home.

Remember Jude Law’s secret Austrian gataway, The Grüner Baum? This historic, organic hotel, once a Royal hunting lodge, and steeped in old Hollywood allure, also hosted the Best of Bio Wine Awards 2015 this summer, an outstanding showcase of organic wines from all over the world.
A jury of guests, hoteliers, distributors and oenologists gathered at The Grüner Baum to select the very best wines from a list of more than 400 brands. This year a surprising amount of new wines entered the competition, demonstrating that is a real buzz around organic and sustainably produced wines, that continues to grow as the health conscious consumer seeks alcohol grown without a plethora of pesticides, sulphites and other additives.
Best of Bio is one of the most challenging wines awards worldwide because only 10 per cent of the brands listed are awarded. The 2015 winners are representatives from the Maremma to the Mosel and from the Champagne to the Lake Neusiedl.
